This New Guinean banknote represents the 1st denomination of the Kina (Series 1981). The beautifully illustrated observe features the National Emblem. The reverse illustration depicts various native craft, including a Mount Hagen ceremonial ax, a bracer, and a boar tusk necklace. Notably New Guinea's highland tribes use boar tusks as currency.
