This large Icelandic banknote represents the 2nd denomination of New Króna (Series 1981-86, Printed 1961). The observe features an illustration of Bishop Guthbrandur Thorláksson, publisher of the Guðbrand's Bible, the first Islandic language bible. The reverse depicts men operating a printing press, backed by text from the Guðbrand's Bible. Notably this banknote was printed in 1961, but was issued in 1981.
